Network Modeling & Resilience Technical Infrastructure Manager – Erlanger, KY

Position Description

ADM has an immediate need for experienced Network Modeler with the skills to design and enable the technical Infrastructure for the Global Supply Chain Resilience Team. This role is responsible for leading development of discrete-event simulation models and driving innovation in simulation modeling with a focus on model speed, build efficiency, and scalability. Such models will be developed to identify tactical and strategic improvements in manufacturing and business operations. These models are used to provide insights into current operational capability and future operational potential to enable profitable business plans and cost savings.  To enable the modeling capabilities, this person will need to the technical and collaboration skills to identify and consolidate data across multiple systems and sources.  The successful candidate will have 5 or more years’ experience developing simulation models and a broad knowledge of planning, manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and transportation processes and systems.  In addition to leveraging Llamasoft/Coupa, the candidate will leverage financial modeling to evaluate alternatives for the existing network, multi-channel initiatives, acquisition integration, risk mitigation, inventory, and sku placement/flow optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Development

• Demonstrated experience designing and executing multi-variable capacity models to optimize assets, line allocation, operating strategies, new investments, etc. based on multiple factors.
• Scenario modeling techniques to enable clear business decision making in times of Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous business situations Exposure to multi-discipline and multi-functional senior leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and implement dashboards, reports, datasets, and data repositories that can be used to communicate requirements to IT partners and/or support departmental needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, external client teams to quickly gather comprehensive data, frame the operational challenge and visualize a solution design.
• Demonstrated ability to develop tools and methodologies to easily access multiple scenarios based on the evolution of business needs, site performance, going state, transition state, and while supporting new initiative launches.
• Develop model KPIs unique to the context of the challenge, providing insight into unfulfilled operational potential.

• Knowledge developing documentation and Training for Modeling and Simulation tools and methodologies to enable utilization, reapplications, or amplification by broader teams. Collaborate with internal business development and project managers to transform and visualize the data used to create and driving operational road maps

Communication

• Ability to translate needs into modeling questions, analyze, develop options/scenarios, and communicate outcomes, options, and recommendations. Where possible lead/influence to translate into execution.
• Clearly communicates complex principles, ideas, and concepts. Skillfully uses verbal communication to build stakeholder confidence and interpret results of modeling and convert into actionable financial and business cases.

Application/Change Management

• Work with respective programs, sites, categories, and integrated plans for execution, required investments, operating strategies, etc. Outcomes need to be translatable into existing supply network planning processes as well as specific Global Supply Chain initiatives
• Determine tools and models to determine optimum asset utilization across multiple sites based on SKU mix, packaging design, formulation design, customer differentiation, and current and future site capabilities.
• Identify strategic opportunities / potential operational improvements for the company. Develops designs and innovative solutions to increase efficiency and resolve network problems. Capable of resolving urgent tactical needs / opportunities in the network.
• Coordinates with Network Optimization Managers on project implementation and priorities. Responsible for coordinating cross divisionally to align and achieve project objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related degree.
• Minimum 5 years of incorporating either production system modeling or supply network design/modeling & simulation.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using supply chain design & optimization systems (e.g. Llamasoft,) and processes to drive improvements in business results.
• Proficient in Sequel with deep experience in data analytics.
• Ability to bring together and analyze multiple sources of data, identifying relationships and interpreting results from a business perspective.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
• Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, think of solutions and obtain results under tight deadlines.
• Focus on continuous process improvements to gain efficiencies and automate routine functions to reduce manual work.
• Mathematical aptitude necessary to implement and interpret complex financial data and operational metrics.
• Familiarity with multiple business intelligence tools and reporting interfaces and demonstrated experience developing dashboards using visualization technologies such as Tableau and Power BI required.
• Understanding working within SAP as data source for production resources, production plans, demand, BOM explosion, etc. Preferred.
• Industry Chemicals, Food & Beverages, and Food Production experience preferred
