Job Description

The Manager, Lease Administration and Governance will be the Lease Administration Functional Expert and oversees the system administration of Mars lease administration tool, Lucernex, and manages the outsourced resources responsible for day-to-day lease administration

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required,

Minimum of seven of related experience, including lease administration and commercial property expense reconciliations. Knowledge of FASB regulations and procedures for contracts to ensure compliance with regulations regarding lease accounting. Well-versed in real estate, financial, and accounting concepts, financial analysis, budget formulation and business case development / justification

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of management through diplomacy and tact.

Effective oral and written communication skills for dealing with finance, business partners and IT

Paralegal experience preferred

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead internal and external stakeholders in the development of lease administration as a discipline at Mars, including centralization and automation of rent payments
  • Manage outsourced lease administration partner to deliver on real estate team objectives
  • Design and implement real estate total occupancy cost audit program, using external resources, develop and deliver on annual savings targets
  • Lead lease database maintenance and improvement initiatives, including data integrity and completeness audits, enhancements, and standardization efforts
  • Assist in reviewing real estate transactional documents, e.g., lease documents, contracts and other correspondence
  • Work with Finance lease accounting to support deployment of new lease accounting standards, maintain understanding of application of ASC 842 accounting standards with the ability to make connections with the facts and circumstances identified through daily business operations.
  • Work with real estate team and external resources to develop lease dashboards and reporting
