The Instructional Design Manager role in our Learning & Workforce Capability organization might be the path to unleash your potential.  In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented Instructional Designers and Instructional Media Consultants who build content that support the business plans for every line of business in Cox Communications.  We want leaders who can inspire others and use their intellectual curiosity to learn and lead with a focus on the future.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Direct management, coaching, and development of an Instructional Design team

Collaboration and partnership with other leaders in Curriculum Development to assure continuity, consistency, and appropriate resource allocation

Guides the design process in an agile manner, ensuring deadlines are met

Inspires and advocates for the use of technology and tools within learning to leverage best practices for virtual and blended learning solutions that follow a learn-apply methodology

Assures adherence to overall curriculum strategy and processes

Recommends and implements new ideas for innovation, efficiency, and process improvement

Partners with Learning & Implementation and Business leaders to understand training needs, development opportunities, and priorities across the organization. This will include collaborating on workforce planning solutions, helping to ensure we are building the skills of the future and supporting the success of CCI employees

Review instructional materials to ensure quality and accuracy and adherence to brand standards

Oversight of other learning projects as needed

Qualifications:

 

Required 

5 years’ experience in curriculum development and design using a variety of instructional design principles, learning theory, and instructional technology

3 years’ experience leading large programs and managing a team of instructional designers

 Ability to innovate and execute at both tactical and strategic levels

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor design staff on process, tools, and instructional modalities

Business knowledge and understanding of multiple functional areas to anticipate client needs

Strong performance consulting skills and rapport-building skills

Proven results with strategic thinking, problem solving, creativity, and deployment of training initiatives linked to business outcomes

Demonstrated ability to influence and to obtain buy-in from stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills

Proven experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic, and virtual environment

 

Preferred

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or equivalent experience

Experience in the telecommunications industry
