Purpose
Finance Manager role supporting the Network Enablement program within the Development Portfolio, including being a contributor to agile development for Finance/Accounting capabilities. The Manager will own business cases, value assessments, program financials, and recurring read-outs to senior leaders as well as manage an analyst.
Ideal candidate will be a seasoned contributor with a broad understanding of the business who thrives in an unstructured environment. Position requires independence; ability to build, understand, and explain highly complex financial models; and possesses strong presentation skills with the ability to understand the audience and tailor communications to effectively tell the story. Lead/influence cross functionally in a dotted-line matrixed environment to achieve goals. Develops repeatable and structured processes to measure program benefits as well as capex and grow opex reporting and planning.
Major Tasks
Performs financials analysis – Conduct, and/or oversee a team of analysts who complete financial and operational analyses and identify emerging trends. May include cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and forecasting/budgeting. Additional ad-hoc analysis based on customer need.
Performs data analysis – Conduct, and/or could oversee a team of analysts who gathers, and compiles data used for identifying business trends/dynamic and develops, reviews and/or presents recommendations. Develop construct to access and manipulate data from company data systems and sources.
Performs modeling – Conduct, and/or oversee a team of analysts who conceptualizes, prepares and presents economic models, analyses and recommendations.
Performs reporting – Conduct, and/or oversee a team of analysts who develops and modifies financial reports and statements. Creates advanced visualizations of extracted data.
Provide financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships – conduct, and/or oversee a team of analysts who recommends and facilitates changes; analyze and review data and resolve questions and/or problems. Assist in policy development to support change initiatives. Ability to influence with frequent support from their leader.
Project Management – Conduct, and/or oversee a team of analysts who lead cross functional team to define, assign, monitor and complete project objectives. Leads cross-functional teams by example demonstrating financial expertise to address non-routine issues, optimize workflows and/or significantly contribute to improvements to internal organization and processes.
Leadership – Build team of financial analysts through recruiting, selection, developing, coaching and performance management. Oversee the completion of projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum
7 or more years of experience required in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
3 plus years of financial modeling/business case experience.
Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent presentation, and communcation skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience in telecommunications industry desired
