The Enterprise Planning and Analysis team is seeking a Manager of Finance to focus on key Budget planning and management activities in support of overall Enterprise financial planning. As part of the Enterprise Finance team, this position plays a crucial role in developing our annual budget and long-range plan, works with finance partners from across the organization, and gains unique experience from seeing how the full financial view is developed and communicated. This role involves significant exposure to key finance and client leaders across the business including Business Operations and the Planning COE, and interaction with the parent company Cox Enterprises.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures a clear and well-communicated budget calendar and process
Leads corporate budget planning including taxes, benefits and incentive comp
Prepares planning partners for annual and on-going scenario loads to our budget system
Manages topside entries and budget maintenance efforts
Partners with CEI on budget guidance and changes
Performs enterprise-level ad-hoc analysis
This is an important role that enables the right leader to make an impact on our planning efforts. The role has 1 direct report.
Additional Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Performs financial analysis, modeling and reporting – Conduct and oversee a team who complete complex analyses, provide strategic financial forecasting/analyses, and report month end/plan results to multiple levels of leadership. Create, maintain, and update financials in support of month end reporting, R&O monthly updates, and forecasts/budgets.
Provide financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships – Conduct, and/or direct a team of managers and/or analysts who recommends and facilitates changes; analyzes and reviews data and resolves questions and/or problems. Assists in policy development to support change initiatives. Ability to influence cross-functional and enterprise-wide with limited support from their leader. Oversee multiple clients, processes, projects, etc.
Monitor and optimize business processes – Conduct, and/or direct a team of managers and/or analysts who provides and reviews data to ensure both compliance and effectiveness of complex operational and financial processes, identifying anomalies and making recommendations. Understands the enterprise impact of decisions from their department.
Project Management – Conduct, and/or direct a team of managers and/or analysts who lead cross functional teams to define, assign, monitor and complete project objectives.
Leadership – Builds team of managers and financial analysts through recruiting, selection, developing, coaching and performance management. Manage a team of 6 including Sr. Manager, Manager, and 4 financial analysts.
Strong Communication – Expected to work with SVP, and VP levels to develop, review, and present recommendations in easily digestible formats.
Qualifications:
Minimum
7+ years of experience required in related field (Finance, Accounting); 5+ with advanced degree.
Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase, and SmartView.
Requires strong knowledge of financial modeling and data analysis
Proactive risk and opportunity identification from financial analysis, and recommendation for risk remediation
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
Strong Communication skills
Exhibits executive presence, Influences others
Preferred
BS/BA in related discipline (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)
2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred or leading cross functional projects preferred
Experience in telecommunications industry desired
