The Tactical Opportunities Team at Disney+ (within Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution) is a small, newly formed team responsible for driving strategic initiatives to support Disney+ subscriber growth, from ideation through recommendation. This team operates as a “special situations” function directly reporting to the SVP of Direct-to-Consumer Finance and has an extremely high degree of executive visibility across the business. We are seeking a Manager that will be a leader in owning analyses, frameworks, and processes to optimize Disney+’s next wave of growth.

Responsibilities:

The Manager will be responsible for driving analytical analyses in financial and subscription growth modelling realms, in addition to clearly and succinctly presenting those analyses in varying formats and contexts. Illustrative examples include assessing pricing strategy, evaluating acquisition seasonality, and optimizing subscriber retention. Given the dynamic scope and type of work within Tactical Opportunities, projects will oftentimes be complex, ambiguous, fluid, and involve multiple stakeholders. As such, success in this highly impactful role requires robust analytical and presentation skills with a penchant for leveraging data to solve problems. The Manager will be expected to own projects with very little oversight, and adeptly manage expectations of peers and cross-functional partners across Subscriber Planning, Data & Analytics, Marketing, Business Operations, and Content Planning & Analysis. Broadly defined, the work in this role will help shape Disney+ growth strategy.

  • Architect thoughtful, thorough, and actionable analyses to answer the needs of the business, both in short- and long-term contexts
  • Build comprehensive, digestible, and impactful presentation materials that outline key elements of projects or a full deep dive, depending on the audience
  • Act as the liaison between the SVP of Direct-to-Consumer Finance and other cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on Subscriber Planning and Business Operations
  • Be able to tactically and seamlessly move between different projects and analysis raised by leadership to inform decision making
  • Contribute to culture of “constant ideation” by speaking your mind on opportunities for Disney+ to continue to innovate and grow

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, direct-to-consumer strategy, or similar fields
  • Impeccable excel skills with experience navigating large data sets, building subscription models, and tackling broader analytical analyses
  • Excellent PowerPoint and accompanying communication skills, with an ability to distill complex ideas into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Thrive in ambiguity with a deliverable-focused attitude, strong work ethic, ability to prioritize, and resolve an array of issues simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and understanding of subscription / DTC KPIs are a must, and media & entertainment industry experience is a plus
