Cox Communications is looking for a Manager, Marketing & Sales Data & Reporting to provide leadership and strategic direction for design, development, delivery, and maintenance of current and future data and reporting needs. This leader will develop our future data framework as well as provide training and guidance to develop the team to achieve objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience stitching multiple data sources (1st party, 3rd party data onboarding, DCM, etc.) together, for the purpose of creating reporting and analytical datasets.
Strong communication and analytical thinking skills are required to have the right level of impact and influence. The successful candidate will call upon their understanding of best reporting and data practices to establish and implement technical and operating performance standards. The candidate will manage a team of solution architects and report delivery professionals.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop strategic plan and roadmap to transition from current data structure to one that is cloud based; develops strategy, creates objectives, and requirements to support transition. Provides training and support to develop capabilities of current employees.
Oversee team that will define data requirements in collaboration with M&S leadership and/or external partners.
Lead data engineering implementations including data ingestion, data models, data structures, data storage, high-throughput data processing, data pipelines, and data monitoring at scale
Follow data engineering best practices with considerations for high data availability, computational efficiency, cost, and quality
Develop processes and methods to maintain environments, processes, functionalities, and tools to support all stages of analytics solution development, e.g., proof of concepts, prototypes, and production
Create governance to maintain frameworks for transitioning analytics solutions at different maturity levels between data science and operational teams
Automate manual processes into repeatable capabilities
Create and maintain containers to deploy analytics applications in cloud-based and on-prem platforms
Keep up to date on new technologies, standards, and practices
Coaches and develops people resources to maximize strengths and develop strong, collaborative partnerships within the Technology organization and across business functions.
Test new technologies, tools, and data
Qualifications:
Minimum

7+ years of experience related to analytics, data engineering and/or technology; 5+ years of experience if candidate possesses advanced degree
Expertise in SQL language and Python. Experience with writing complex programs, implementing architectures in these environments
Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of software/languages/tools, e.g., Spark, R, Python, Scala, Java, C++, Hadoop, Hive, SQL, SAS, Tableau, etc.
Experience working in cloud environments such as Google, Microsoft, or Amazon
Excellent soft skills such as interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization
Strong communication skills
Preferred
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business)
2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
5+ years of experience within an Oracle Database environment
Experience in data visualization solutions and data visualization tools
Cox EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse) expertise
