Manager, Controllership Center of Excellence

As a member of this team, you will gain exposure across Fidelity’s lines of business and serve as a key resource to all of the Business Unit Controllers. This role will deliver significant value to the business by working in partnership with the firm’s Financial Controls Program team to review and assess critical financial processes and associated controls. You’ll have core responsibilities coordinating with business, operational / technology risk, audit, and finance partners to implement and validate changes that mitigate risks to the firm. You will also be focused on ad hoc projects related to developing, streamlining, and/or modernizing the processes and tools supporting our financial reporting.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CIA, or advanced degree recommended but not required)

3-5+ years of relevant Accounting, internal / external audit, or risk management experience

Financial Services industry experience is highly desirable

Experience in leading process assessments / walkthroughs

Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls over financial reporting

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Excellent project management experience and proven ability to balance multiple priorities at once

Experience designing and implementing accounting processes or financial systems a plus

The Value You Deliver

Work closely with business partners to ensure proper internal controls and documentation are in place to safeguard the integrity of the firm’s financial reporting

Identify and assist in the implementation of opportunities to strengthen the control environment / drive efficiencies including the use of tools such as Alteryx

Take initiative in finding, recommending, and presenting solutions in response to ad hoc inquiries that require significant coordination and education efforts

Partner with Business Unit Controllers to evaluate the changing risk landscape and implement changes to integrated testing and assessment plans accordingly

Lead discussions with business partners to develop, document, and test corrective actions for findings identified through process reviews or risk incidences

Work cross-functionally to support critical finance modernization, simplification, and standardization initiatives.

Assist with new product launches or system enhancements to ensure all associated transactions are recorded, validated, and reported accurately

Lead coordination efforts with other internal risk functions, agile development teams, and our external auditor
