The Optimization & Economics team is looking for a Manager to help grow one of the 4 pillars of the team. The team’s mission is to make sure that as an organization, Mastercard optimizes and realizes the full potential of its solutions, including monetizing the value we deliver. You will be part of the global Consumer Solutions Organization focused on Mastercard’s consumer value proposition, future proofing Mastercard acceptance, and future proofing our business in general looking at new digital infrastructure and Fintechs. The Optimization & Economics team works alongside the product and infrastructure teams focused on building, differentiating, and deploying these Consumer solutions.
The role
As Manager in Consumer Solutions - Optimization & Economics, Pricing team you will work at the heart of Mastercard’s business and enjoy a broad exposure to all its different aspects. You will work in an international environment, across the geographies and across all products.
In this position you will help lead the economic strategies for Mastercard products and services. You will design, assess and implement initiatives to strengthen Mastercard’s’ competitive position on product and market level. By enhancing and shaping our economics you play an important role in the development and adoption of innovative payment solutions.
The candidate will be part of a dynamic team, at the heart of MasterCard business, working in close relationships with colleagues from all horizons: across geographies and functional areas, analyzing a fast-moving economic landscape and supporting the design of the appropriate economics.
Major Accountabilities:
• Drive corporate consumer and digital objectives through economic levers
• Partner with global Product Owners to understand the product’s value
• Collaboration with Product Owners and Regional teams to drive value-based pricing and interchange proposals applying our global pricing framework
• Gain knowledge on metrics, measurements, and benchmarking practices across the multiple networks and data sources within the organization.
• Partner with our Data Scientist to identify key data criteria to build pricing models and billing processes
• Partner with GBSC Billing team to understand billing processes to implement pricing proposals; understand considerations for efficient and fast billing implementation
• Identify and perform pricing analysis to assess impact and solutions of potential product interchange and pricing initiatives at region and market levels
• Develop, manage, and present pricing proposals to global pricing committee to gain approval
• Manage timely communication and implementation of approved pricing and interchange proposals including the review of business requirements, the development of implementation documents, and follow up.
• Identify and recommend best practices in pricing and interchange
• Monitor competitive pricing and interchange practices through consultation with business managers and public information sources

Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in finance and/or economics
• Strong analytical experience
• Working experience in pricing area a plus
• Price modeling experience
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently
• Proven project management experience, problem solving and planning skills, with a demonstrated record of success managing multiple projects with internal and external partners
• Ability to assess business needs and develop a course of action that effectively integrates technical and business components, to organize a solution process that includes appropriate cross-organizational participation, yielding quantifiable results for Mastercard Worldwide
• Proven ability to coordinate multi-functional teams and to lead and drive as a subject matter expert
• Proven ability to execute and deliver on target against established objectives
• Written and oral fluency in English required, second language a plus
• High proficiency with computer spreadsheet, word processing, data mining and presentation software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point required, working knowledge of Alteryx a plus
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Sciences required. Master’s degree a plus.
• International programs or experience in international positions required.
COVID-19 Considerations
