Job Summary:

The Walt Disney Company’s Consumer Payments Team (part of Corporate Treasury) is responsible for developing and implementing the global consumer payments strategy, establishing appropriate risk management measures, identifying and executing on operational and financial efficiencies, and managing global internal and external relationships in the consumer payments space. With total consumer payment volume exceeding $20B per year across the enterprise, the enterprise payments group collaborates with all lines of business and senior management to support continued growth as well as ensure enterprise-wide alignment on key initiatives and risk mitigation efforts.

This role will play a significant part in continuing to build and optimize our relationships with leading global payments services providers while working closely with internal payments, product and legal colleagues around the world to drive continued performance improvement for our business and customers.

Responsibilities:

You will work with the consumer payments team leadership to optimize our third party partnership ecosystem of global payment processors, card brands, issuing banks and emerging alternative payment methods (e.g., wallets, BNPL) to maximize value and performance for our lines of business. You will:

  • Support the negotiation and management of key elements of partnership contracts which may include evaluating new products and services, pricing, business terms, and service level agreements
  • Manage key aspects of relationships with acquirer/processors, networks, issuers and other payment service providers including partnering with local and regional payments team on new product/service implementations, identifying key issues and opportunities and prioritizing and managing those items through completion and/or resolution
  • Partner with payments optimization team as well as lines of business (e.g., Streaming, Parks, Stores) to improve direct-to-consumer payments experiences by engaging new partners, exploring acceptance of new payment types and optimizing current partner performance
  • Lead the execution of a new global issuer outreach strategy to support key Disney initiatives collaborating closely with international consumer payments team members in each region (EMEA, APAC and LATAM)
  • Partner with payments analytics and optimization team to define third-party performance metrics and share responsibility for performance management including utilizing the quarterly business review (QBR) process to drive quality, performance, value, and innovation
  • Lead development and maintenance of comprehensive and high-quality relationship management documentation - including contracts, pricing and terms summaries, dynamic project and issue logs with key partners and payments product and partner research and assessments - for use in decision making, negotiations, audits and updates to key internal stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years business experience ideally with a role in third-party partner relationship management/support
  • Experience working or managing projects across functions and/or lines of business
  • You are an excellent relationship manager able to build and sustain working relationships within and outside the company
  • You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • You have strong organizational skills, follow up and follow through
  • You are a problem solver with the ability to shift priorities quickly, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and control
  • You work well in a matrix management environment – able to work with and influence various colleagues across payments, product, legal and operations to accomplish objectives
  • You are a self-starter, motivated, positive demeanor, excellent communicator and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • You are proficient in MSOffice software and willing to identify and learn new tools to help drive improvements for the team and the business
  • You are able to conduct deep dive analysis but “pull up” to present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders in a digestible way

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience including a consumer payments-related role
  • Experience in managing contracts and day-to-day vendor performance versus those contracts
  • You have deep experience in negotiating and/or managing complex global partnership contracts
  • You have exceptional third party/ vendor management skills in consumer payments
  • You bring significant industry experience in direct-to-consumer payments
