Job Summary:
Disney General Entertainment (DGE) is looking for a Manager of Consumer Insights to help develop, design and implement consumer research to support stakeholders across ABC Network and Disney Television Studios (ABC Signature and Twentieth Television)—including Development, Current Programming and Marketing. The Manager will support quantitative and qualitative research initiatives and audience analysis to represent the opinions, attitudes, preferences and behaviors of a wide range of consumers.
The Manager will report to the Director, Consumer Insights and lead a range of projects including series maintenance, pilot testing, concept testing, title testing, awareness tracking, and additional content studies.
Responsibilities:
- Managing research projects from inception to completion, including development of methodology, project goals, questionnaire development, programming, deployment, analysis and presentation/story development
- Conducting research for both current and potential series for broadcast, cable and streaming services. Projects will include concept and title studies, pilot testing, comprehensive in-season and post-season viewer feedback, weekly awareness tracking, and ad/promo testing
- Responsible for research design, questionnaire, data analysis, report writing and presentations
- Designing and building final reports that bring the relevant insights and stories to life and turn consumer insights into actionable recommendations; presenting findings to key stakeholders
- Creating and updating normative databases on an ongoing basis using a variety of datasets
- Supervise and manage research vendors/partners, keeping track of key project details such as timing, recruitment of respondents, survey programming, and data output, and troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Collaborating with other research groups in order to report a full picture view of show and network performance
- Performing other related tasks and/or special projects as assigned
- Familiarity with/ability to execute most primary research methodologies (quantitative and qualitative)
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in primary research projects – both qualitative and quantitative at a media/entertainment company, advertising agency, research supplier or brand consultancy
- Experience designing, managing and executing primary research studies including both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to synthesize complex ideas and data sets into holistic stories
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when it comes to data quality and reporting
- Skilled at data visualization and creating impactful presentations and deliverables, especially comfortable with PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment
- Flexible and will embrace new assignments with a can-do attitude as priorities change
- A team player who is willing to pitch in across different teams when needed
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of Marketing, Communications, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences or related fields a plus
This role is considered hybrid, which means the employee will work a portion of their time on-site from a Company designated location and the remainder of their time remotely.
