Job Description

Manager, Business Operations Finance will serve as a key client support partner to CEI Corporate Functions in terms of providing consultative financial and operational decision support. The Business Operations – Finance is a new capability being stood up at CEI, and this role will have the unique opportunity to assist with establishing the new support model for these corporate functions. Partnership capabilities related to this role include providing an understanding of financial performance with connectivity to the operations, creating financial plans, business case development, developing pro-active insights into risks and opportunities in the business and providing operational recommendations. This role will be responsible for the leadership and development of a team of one to two Sr. Analysts and/or Analysts and will partner with the Business Divisions (Cox Communications & Cox Automotive) to provide an understanding of support costs and associated value that is being driven by the various functions.

 Duties and Responsibilities

Assist to stand up the new support model in alignment with Business Operations Finance future state vision

Develop deep understanding of the Corporate Functions they support and the value the teams provide to the Business Divisions

Lead strategic and financial planning processes with modeling and analysis support

Perform ad hoc analyses or business cases to support the evaluation of new opportunities and other key business decisions

Provide proactive insights and recommendations to drive operational improvements and additional value to the organization

Develop and present monthly financial and operating performance insights and story to Sr. Leadership

Work well in a collaborative team environment

Develop trusted relationships with Corporate Function leaders that can be leveraged to provide consultative client support and to influence key decisions

Demonstrate the ability to shape thinking and influence others without direct authority while being seen as a valued and trusted advisor and partner to the business

Provide thought leadership relative to continuous business process improvement and best practices to adopt with the team

Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to effectively tell the business story

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.

Minimum 7 years of Finance or Business Operations experience required (5 years with MBA) with 2 years in leadership capacity either directly managing others or directly influencing work within other areas of the organization

Demonstrated ability to serve both as a supportive partner, as well as to challenge the status quo to drive additional business value

Proven experience leading through high degrees of change and ambiguity

Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analysis skills with a high degree of intellectual curiosity

Proven ability to translate detailed financials into a story and actionable insights to Executive audiences

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide creative solutions to business challenges

Experience in leading business process improvement initiatives

Advanced experience with MS Excel & Power Point, along with OneStream, Hyperion, or other similar financial planning / reporting tools

Preferred   

BS/BA in related discipline  

2 or more years of experience in a role with direct responsibility for leading and managing people

Prior experience that demonstrates partnership and success in influencing key leaders in the business
