Cox Automotive is hiring a Manager, Accounting Contract Review.  This role is responsible for the Cox Automotive contract administration process and proper accounting treatment.  Responsibilities include ensuring contracts are captured, documented, reviewed, and accounted for per accounting standards.  Establish relationships with stakeholders from Enterprise Finance and Accounting (EF&A), Sales, Supply Chain, Business Units and third-party providers.  In this role, the individual will ensure the contract process is maintained and escalation for proper approval of accounting treatment occurs.  This position will identify weaknesses in controls, opportunities, risks and process inefficiencies and act upon those findings.  This position will be expected to gain a detailed understanding of business processes involving contract approvals and maintaining a current understanding of GAAP and FASB accounting standards.

 Job Responsibilities:

Capture key data points, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of revenue recognition, lease expense and capitalization treatment.

Lead bi-weekly touch points with EF&A leadership teams to ensure reviews are being completed and proper accounting treatment.  This position will also work with Internal Controls and external accounting resources to ensure control compliance and escalation of material contracts to leadership for decisioning. 

Oversee and manage the quarterly internal controls certification process.  Work closely with Accounting Center of Excellence leaders to verify processes are in compliance with audit requirements.

Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for all tasks and responsibilities assigned including decision maker or facilitator depending on the contract scenario. 

Recruit, hire, train and coach team members as needed to perform Enterprise Accounting responsibilities.  Also will provide real time performance feedback to staff to include development and coaching/counseling.

Manage and assist in compiling quarterly and annual financial data submissions for the Corporate, Tax Department, Internal Audit and others as needed.

Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to accounting.  Responsible for tracking and meeting those goals and ensuring adherence to those policies and procedures.

Partner with other departments to ensure all internal controls are adhered to and financial statements are fairly and accurately presented.

Perform account research and analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.

Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries.

Adhere to rigorous controls over all processes around the Oracle ERP and BlackLine systems.

Manage special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting required); CPA preferred.

7+ years of accounting experience required.

Experience with contract administration including ensuring the accuracy of revenue recognition, lease expense, capitalization treatment and internally developed software.

1-2 years of accounting management experience preferred.

Previous experience with Shared Service Center accounting preferred.

Maturity and organizational savy to work with corporate management.

Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service.

Demonstrated financial analysis strength.

Excellent oral and written communication is mandatory.

Strong knowledge of GAAP.

Highly detail oriented and organized in work.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure, and shift priorities quickly as required.

Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems.

Ability to understand business strategy and translate into effective tactical plans.

Strong computer skills and proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Strong knowledge of Oracle, BlackLine, HFM, Essbase and SmartView preferred.

Proven ability to work with all levels in the organization.
