The Wrigley - Gainesville factory in Flowery Branch, GA has an opening for a Maintenance Technician. There are multiple shifts available. However, please be aware that you must have a willingness to work off-shifts (afternoons/night) as many of the shifts are either rotating between days/nights or a rotating night shift.

The primary purpose of a Maintenance Technician is to maintain conditions of operating equipment. Secondary tasks include the repair or replacement of failed components, the ability to troubleshoot unknown issues with equipment, and make adjustments to centerline operational output of assigned equipment.

Essential Functions

Perform trouble shooting and preventative maintenance on various manufacturing and packaging equipment; document work in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Other duties may include fabrication, welding, and machinist skills as required.

Working knowledge and repair ability of basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment; i.e. packaging, overwrap, case pack/erectors, conveying, processing, or facilities equipment, etc.

Participate in TPM Teams, train operators in AM activities, and conduct Breakdown Analysis.

Qualifications:

Required

• 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment performing troubleshooting and completing repair/adjustments to achieve production targets
• Ability to properly document use of required parts in CMMS
• Understand and adhere to LOTO, Confined Space, and all other plant safety/GMP requirements related to supporting machinery uptime.
• Detailed understanding of gear boxes, coupling, cams, conveyors, lubrication, chains/sprockets, belts/pulleys, bearings, hot cold/glue applications, thermocouples, heating elements, drive line components and machine guarding
• Working knowledge of motor starters, proximity switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters, amp probes, visual inspection.
• Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics, and mechanical drawings in order to solve problems in a timely manner.
• Capable of operating applicable hand tools and shop equipment
• Conduct “hot work” permit work as necessary to include grinding and/or welding as trained and as required.
• Ability to work at heights and qualify for fall protection use
• Basic Computer skills required
• Understand TPM Theory and Concepts
• Requires working knowledge of machinist skills, metal smith work, plumbing and steam fitting
• Work in confined spaces as required and adhere to regulations and policies covering confined space. (Mechanics working in confined space are required to learn Basic First Aid and CPR.)

Desired

• 5 years of maintenance experience in a high-speed food-packaging manufacturing environment.
• A technical diploma or BS/AS degree in Industrial Maintenance/Engineering/Engineering Technology field.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair equipment containing motor starters, proximity switches and sensors found on all assigned equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters, amp probes.
• PLC programming
• Fabrication and welding
