Position Description

Performs a wide variety of supervised skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, electrical systems, hydraulics systems for a variety of equipment through a combination of hands-on experience and schooling.

Job Responsibilities

1. Performs supervised electrical construction work including panel building, conduit and wiring installation, and planning control systems.
2. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs power and lighting systems, industrial machinery, material handling equipment, and general plant equipment.
3. Installs and performs maintenance on machines and equipment.
4. Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds hydraulics and pneumatics.
5. Performs supervised work in the following areas for a total of 10,000 hours:

• Electrical Construction: 1440 hours
• Electrical Maintenance: 3285 hours
• Safety: 320 hours
• Machine and Equipment Installation, Maintenance and Repair all types: 2841
• Hydraulics/Pneumatics: 1000
• Metallurgy: 100
• Machine Operation: 150
• Paid Related Instruction: 864

1. Attends classes through Wisconsin Technical College System for paid related instruction at least 4 hours per week and satisfactorily completes the course material for a minimum of 864 hours.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Solid academic math background including algebra and geometry
• Successful completion of pre-apprenticeship tests
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
