Maintenance Technician

Conagra Brand Foods (Vlasic)  located in Imlay City, Michigan is hiring experienced, self-starters interested in working in an industrial food manufacturing environment. Skilled individuals who enjoy a variety of technical challenges will excel. Primary responsibility will be the preventive maintenance of production equipment along with repair and rebuild of equipment when necessary. The third shift team traditionally works 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. with two paid 20 minute breaks. Daily overtime and weekend overtime is also necessary for our skilled trade staff.

Conagra offers competitive wages based on prior education, training and experience:

0-1,999 work hours + training = $19.81/hour       

2,000-3,999 work hours + training = $21.88/hour

4,000-5,999 work hours + training  = $23.95/hour                                    

6,000-7,999 work hours + training   =    $26.02/hour     

8,000 work hours + training = FULL MECHANICAL RATE $28.08/hour

Overtime paid after 40 hours – Double time after 55.  Shift Premium: $0.25/2nd shift, $0.40 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and recommend improvements for equipment

Review daily schedule to ensure proper equipment setup

Compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

Fabrication, machine shop skills and a strong mechanical background

Develop working relationships with fellow employees and supervision to insure correction of machine failures and implement preventative maintenance measures

Complete work orders and record material used on jobs

Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklift, mechanical lifts, ladders, scaffolding and hand tools

Working knowledge of conveyors, variable frequency drives, electrical motors and industrial controls

Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects

Work daily/weekend overtime as scheduled

SKILLS

High School Diploma or GED required

Welding, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Gearboxes, Boilers, etc.

Journeyman, Bachelor of Science, Associates, or Certificate in an Engineering field preferred

Able to work well with minimal supervision
