Job Description

General:

  • Work with MP to ensure all cell tasks are properly planned and resourced.
  • Support all CPS pillars, including but not limited to PM linkages with Autonomous Maintenance Development (AMD), Focused Improvement (FI) Methods, Early Management (EM) and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Assist with maintaining packaging, process, and utility equipment.
  • 24/7 Operation; 12-hour shift with 3-2-2 Schedule, rotating days / nights every 4 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively troubleshoot and make routine repairs to all mechanical systems; drives, chain, sprocket, belt, pulley, laser alignment, gearbox, etc.  AC/DC systems (contactors, relays, VFDs, starters, motor controls, pneumatic systems, sensors and PLC components).
  • Troubleshoot and program PLCs.
  • Perform Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (Mechanical and Electrical) as assigned: Lubrication, Rebuild, Time-based replacement, IR.
  • Improve PMs by providing feedback to Planner.
  • Assist in Planning process by identifying parts and work required using SAP.
  • Participate in Breakdown Elimination process.
  • Keep accurate records in SAP.
  • Use blueprints, drawings, electrical schematics, OEM manuals to aid in PM and troubleshooting.
  • Follow Standard Maintenance Procedures.
  • Share knowledge with others.
  • Participate in development of training documentation for all team members.
  • Complete assigned training (Amatrol or other).
  • Fabrication experience (weld, mill, lathe, etc.).
  • Help develop and rollout CPS Planned Maintenance Pillar programs that track and utilize data related to Breakdowns/Breakdown Records, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), percent planned work, maintenance cost as a percent of Asset Replacement Value (ARV) and work order generation/completion.
  • Drive Zero Breakdown activities.
  • Work with Maintenance Planner to develop Lubrication Management Program including mechanic training program, assessment of current lubrication situation, minimization of number of lubricants and controlled lubricant storage.
  • Maintenance prevention programs; Be part of operator maintenance skills training and 5S activities.
  • Assist in developing maintenance Key Performance Indicators and/or scorecards.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.  Electro-mechanical maintenance experience required, technical degree preferred.
  • Experience/training related to continuous improvement programs (CPS or TPM) a definite plus.
  • Team player with desire to succeed and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills are a must.  Must have proven problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work professionally and effectively with all personnel in plant.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective computer skills including:  SAP packages and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree.

Occasionally:  Use a stepladder.

                                    Kneel/crawl to check materials and machines.

                                    Reach above shoulder height to load over wrap.

                                   Push/pull up to 100 lbs. of product and packaging material.

Regularly:       Stoop/bend to pick up rework, boxes and over wrap.

                                    Climb stairs to the mezzanine, catwalk over the lines.

                                    Twist while doing rework and loading supplies.

                                     Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.

Frequently:      Use hands.

                                    Lift/carry up to 10 lbs.

                                    Talk/hear in order to give/get direction.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This job requires ability to work day and / or night shifts.
