Job Description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment and culture while complying with environmental, quality, and safety rules / programs (ISO 14001, IATF16949, MIOSHA)
  • Communicate and enforce safe working procedures, actively identify safety concerns and drive continuous improvement efforts of corrective actions.
  • Effectively lead a team of maintenance team members with responsibility for 24 hr. maintenance coverage and plant support of 10 to 825 Ton Mechanical / Hydraulic Presses (15), 10 Continuous Sintering Furnaces and other critical pieces of manufacturing equipment.
  • Prepare & Lead Maintenance Improvement plans relative to capital expenditures, repairs, staffing, including facilitating knowledge with maintenance technicians
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Scheduler & Team Leaders as required to work on equipment
  • Establish strong business relationships with other functional areas to best support mutual plant objectives
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer amongst Maintenance Technicians & PM Maintenance Technicians to accelerate growth & development
  • Become familiar with OSHA, State and local facility safety and regulatory  requirements
  • Manage the E-Maintenance Software System that drives all work orders and Preventive Maintenance schedules on a regular basis while ensuring an on-time completion.
  • Champion and perform the necessary duties for the GSSF Safety Management System - Maintenance Element.

Financial

  • Work with Management Team to establish annual Capital spend plans
  • Establish and maintain a monthly forecasted R&M spend budget with finance, monitor and adjust as necessary
  • Evaluate, monitor and maintain proper MRO inventory levels

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 7 years engineering or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience with safety management; including working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Experience with maintenance engineering concepts including planning & scheduling, preventive & predictive maintenance, project check-out & start-ups, and mechanical integrity 
  • Previous PM experience in a Manufacturing Equipment Environment.
  • Experience with mechanical & hydraulic presses, and electrical and pneumatic.
  • Always promote and follow facility-wide safety guidelines for items such as PPE, Powered Industrial Trucks, Visitors, Subcontractors LOTO, Arc Flash and others.
  • Provide leadership and support to maintain clean & organized work areas.
  • Ability to produce accurate, high quality work in a time sensitive fast paced environment
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and proven success in communicating effectively at all levels

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Obtain and maintain BW LOTO Certification.

Must maintain current BW PDS  Hi-Lo and Walkie Powered Industrial Truck Licenses.

Obtain and maintain DOT HazMat Certification

Obtain and maintain BW Spill Response Certification.

Obtain and maintain BW Confined Space Certification

Obtain and maintain BW Arc Flash Certification
