Job Description

The Machine Tool Operations Electrical Apprentice is expected to, under direction: 

  • Learn and carry out all electrical works to support the development and implementation of product equipment for Blades and Razors Process & Engineering Group. 
  • Assist with the support of precision machine builds and their installation, including providing plant manufacturing support.
  • Develop a general knowledge of Mass. Electrical Codes as well as all applicable standards: NFPA 70E- NFPA 79, assembly techniques. 
  • Attend and pass required college classes relating to the electrical field.
  • Follow all required safety procedures outlined in Company policy and OSHA regulations.

Ideal candidates for this position will be expected to:

  • Possess the ability to review and understand basic electrical schematics.
  • Learn and troubleshoot A.C. and D.C. circuits.
  • Learn to Upload/Download applicable software and PLC Programs.
  • Build and commission existing and new production machinery.
  • Develop mechanical operations of machinery.
  • Travel based on business needed, as necessary
  • Handle and/or move hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
  • Attend a technical college in the engineering field related to studies in conjunction with the electrical trade.
  • Maintain industry/company standards relative to work procedures and tool/machine maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as required.

In order to perform the work described above in our manufacturing atmosphere, plant technicians use basic hand and power tools; lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders and platforms; twist, turn and bend; enter confined spaces; and stand on concrete floors for an extended period of time.  Further, technicians have and are able to display skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining and cleaning automated equipment; maintaining accurate records and data; strong technical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and knowledge of computers.  

Additionally, the safety of Technicians is of great importance to Procter & Gamble.  Technicians will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment, such as safety shoes, ear protection, and eye protection.

Qualifications

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Be willing to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection.
