Job Summary

Machine operators are system experts in their assigned area and are highly functional in multiple areas. Machine Operators must always work safely. They will ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and drive continuous improvement. Machine Operators function as a member of an area team which is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. They operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area in the prescribed amount of time. Machine Operators must have the skill set to perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires Strong Communication, Interpersonal and Team Building skills to support site objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the basic/routine running of packaging/process equipment to complete the conversion process and package finished product prior to shipping in accordance with all routine SOPs and specifications

  • Loading of packaging material

  • Clearing jams

  • Resetting faults

  • Basic changeovers

  • Product quality checks and report issues

  • Maintaining area GMP’s

  • Complete basic preventative maintenance work orders as assigned (e.g. lubrication, observation, etc.) and enter corrective work order requests into the MIS

  • Conformance to all area LOTO and safety procedures, including wearing of PPE and reporting any safety hazards

  • Report safety incidents immediately to the shift manager or designate.

  • Be a role model and provide a safe environment for themselves, other associates and contractors

  • Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.

  • Stand on your feet for an extended period

  • Perform repetitive movements

  • Must be able to adapt to temperature and environmental extremes such as hot to cold, dust and dirt.

EDUCATION:      

  • High School diploma or equivalent; in-house training is required.

  • Must meet all job specific education requirements as deemed necessary

  • Associate Degree or equivalent training is considered a plus.

Schedule

  • Full-time

  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends

  • Monday – Thursday   5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
