Machine Learning Product Owner
We are looking for Machine Learning Product Owners to join our team and play a key role in helping ASOS provide the best shopping experience to our millions of customers. The role offers broad exposure to ASOS, requiring close collaboration with retail, marketing and technology divisions. You will be part of a highly innovative AI platform working alongside data engineers, machine learning scientists and software developers to solve difficult problems using our rich datasets (transactions, customer interactions, product photos and videos) and cutting-edge AI technology.

They are an instrumental part of our autonomous cross-functional teams enabling high collaboration while delivering great data products for the business and its customers.
What you will be doing:
Articulate the vision for the team in line with the company AI strategy, establish roadmaps for delivery and define key KPIs for measuring success
Engage actively with key stakeholders and develop an expert understanding of their problems, challenges and product opportunities
Assess the potential value of new initiatives and prioritise them in line with the platform Objectives and Key Results
Collaborate with machine learning scientists, engineers and architects to translate business problems into machine learning problems
Play an active role in the delivery of data products from hypothesis, model training, feature engineering, experiment design and results analysis to implementation and communication
Drive and prioritise the team product backlog, facilitate workshops and requirements gathering activities
Be part of our sizeable product owner community, consisting of 30+ product owners. You’ll be invited to community events, knowledge shares and meet-ups, all to support your product ownership development journey, ensuring you can be the very best version of yourself at ASOS.
We’d like to meet someone with:
Proven experience of managing an internal or customer-facing product from conception to go live through all stages of the development lifecycle
The ability to gather and prioritise business requirements and translate these into user stories and an actionable backlog
A broad understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
Fundamentals of statistics and experimentation frameworks
A strong knowledge of software development lifecycle
Experience in setting and executing on a product backlog, balancing innovation with short and long-term goals
A strong problem-solving mindset, doing what it takes to solve the problem for the customer, internal or external
Excellent communication skills, able to adapt approach based on whom they’re interacting with
Experience in one or more e-commerce problem space (customer experience, digital marketing, pricing, supply chain optimisation, customer care optimisation)
