The Brunswick i-Jet Lab is seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our Research Park Team for the Fall semester and/or the Winter of 2021.
You will work in the Research Park office at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a Machine Learning Engineering intern, you will be an integral member of the autonomy development team. You will work independently and collaboratively with our students and staff on-site towards a progressive future in the boating industry.

AS THE MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEERING INTERN, YOU WILL:
Work with the Autonomy team in developing Machine learning models for Marine perception tasks such as object detection, segmentation and classification.
Research supervised and unsupervised deep learning techniques.
Help in data collection and preprocessing and work with 3rd party labelers in data annotations and data set preparation for marine perception tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master's degree, or Ph.D. in a field related to Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
Must be willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours, per week for the duration of the internship.
If on a student visa, must be able to obtain CPT work authorization.
Good understanding of Machine Learning concepts (Supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, deep learning etc).
Experience creating clean code.
Experience developing CVML models, data set preparation, data annotation.
Working experience in any ML frameworks like PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow etc and experience using object detection models like Yolo, Dectron2.
Prior experience with Robotics and Computer vision is a plus.
