As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll use development techniques like machine learning, machine vision and web application development on 10+ terabyte sized data sets and document stores. Working on domains from data science focused infrastructure, you'll have a key role in initiatives that keep our company an innovator in the insurance field. You'll lead projects and communicate results to business partners, ensuring recommendations are understood and incorporated in products and processes. You'll use large-scale data mining and machine learning techniques to discover actionable patterns in data that optimize or innovate and solve business problems, perform rigorous model evaluation, design hypothesis tests, oversee test execution and evaluate results. You'll apply knowledge of computer science to run algorithms more efficiently, deploy solutions and find new ways of managing and analyzing the data. Remote work allowed.
Must have qualifications
Master's degree or higher with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field (e.g. Mathematics).
In lieu of the above, Bachelor's degree with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or related field (e.g. Mathematics) and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Statistical/Quantitative Modeling and/or Machine Learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Statistical/Quantitative Modeling and/or Machine Learning tools (R, Python, etc.) and in using various database tools (e.g. Hadoop, SQL) processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
Preferred skills
Experience with sensor fusion to create estimates of state (e.g. velocity) such as Kalman Filter and/or Particle Filter
Understand how the mobile GPS and IMU sensors work including knowledge of physics of motion, coordinate systems, and reference frames
Solid fundamentals in linear algebra and familiarity with statistics
Experience with a programming language, preferably Python and writing code that can run at scale
Familiar with statistical / probabilistic methods such as, Deep Learning models such as CNNs, Bayesian Networks, and Time Series methods
Compensation
$80,300 - $131,500 depending on position level and experience
Gainshare bonus up to 30 to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance, depending on position level
