Job Summary:

ABC News Studios is a group within the award winning ABC News team that produces long-form, narrative non-fiction and news specials for Hulu, the ABC Network, Disney+ and National Geographic.

ABC News Studios interns will be exposed to the inner-workings of the long-form group and get exposure to the development process, creative production, and production management activities.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life…

• Participate in development, production, production management, and business affairs meetings
• Support the production team on a specific program
• Assist with daily logging elements
• Go on shoots
• Assist with administrative duties within the office
• Exposure to all aspects of story development and production
• Participating in editorial meetings
  

Basic Qualifications:

What you bring to the role…

• Interest in editorial content development
• Ability to work efficiently in a team/group setting
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Knowledge and interest in current events

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year
• Proficiency in non-linear, digital video editing (AVID, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere)
• Previous internship experience in a professional newsroom setting
• Familiarity with ABC News Programming

Internship Eligibility

• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last 6 months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program

Additional Details:

• This internship is hybrid – Intern will be asked to work in the office occasionally and work remotely the rest of the time
• Must be willing to work in the New York City area and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2022 through January 2023.
• Candidate must be available to work full-time hours when needed (approximately 20-40 hours per week, Mon-Fri) for the duration of the internship
• Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
