We’re expanding our team within Amazon Logistics Central Operation (UK) in Hemel Hempstead and looking for a Logistics Planner.
In light of the current health situation, this role will initially be home-based before being located in Hemel Hempstead.
As Logistics Planner, you will play an integral part in Amazon Logistics and make a direct impact on how quickly a parcel reaches the customer. As part of the Central Operations Team, you will support daily planning and forecasting to help our UK Delivery Stations to deliver to our customers.

** This position requires flexibility to work over weekends with shift pattern 03:00am - 10:30am **

Key job responsibilities

• Conduct daily dispatch planning operations for Delivery Stations
• Coordinate Sortation Associates planning operations for Delivery Stations
• Coordinate transitions between Forecasting/Scheduling and Routing operations
• Develop, audit and update standard work documents
• Function as an advisor to the UK Delivery Station network on standard operational practices
• Mentor new joiners
• Lead continuous improvement GEMBA walks
• Participate in auditing and updating daily checklists
• Keep the customer at the heart of every decision you make

A day in the life

You will report into the Lead Logistics Planner and be part of an office-based team of Logistics Schedulers supporting the daily planning, routing and execution functions for Delivery Stations in the Amazon Logistics UK network.

In this role, you will work on a shift basis and each day will be different. You will carry out daily route planning operations for Next Day and Same Day delivery services, following standard operations benchmark procedures but also having the chance to improve the status quo through continuous improvement initiatives.

The Central Operations team strive to stay agile from the second an order is placed online on Amazon and aim to provide seamless coordination behind the scenes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid computer skills, including the ability to understand and handle Excel data reports, pivot tables and work with web-integrated workflows
• Able to use multiple software platforms simultaneously to produce accurate outputs
• Experience communicating verbally and in writing in a professional environment
• Evidence of delivering high-quality customer experience in an ever-growing organisation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience using SQL OR Python
• Experience in a similar matrix driven organisation
