Position Overview

At The Coca-Cola Company, we are a global business that operates on a local scale, in every community where we do business. The Logistics Procurement Specialist-Network is responsible for supporting Coca-Cola North America to meet long-term and short-term transportation needs and ensure adherence to performance standards for $900M in transportation spend with 500,000 annual shipments.  Responsibilities include carrier management, procuring capacity needed to support area of responsibility, analytical support, and forecast management.

Related Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Procures rates and capacity to support Coca-Cola North America Regions to meet long-term and short-term transportation needs and ensure performance standards through collaboration with Platform Services Procurement team. 
  • Responsible for annual bid regional support to identify lanes, volume, special customer requirements, lane characteristics, and plant information to ensure accuracy in bidding process. Additionally, provide recommendations and analytical support for bid award process.
  • Responsible for daily tactical relationship carriers, establishing meeting routines, and providing support as needed to enable their success.  Participate in Platform Services-led quarterly business reviews and provide guidance for Transportation & Forecast Analysts on PIP outcomes and next steps.
  • Responsible for ad hoc analysis to identify areas of opportunity to drive financial and performance improvements and act upon them.  Will require advanced excel expertise.
  • Utilize forecasting tools and other reporting to determine volume needs and communicate with primary carriers on lanes.
  • Market Benchmarking in support of sales, finance, supply planning, NPSG and other teams for sourcing and business initiatives.

Qualifications and Position Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Supply Chain or Logistics preferred)  
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics/transportation management (over the road); data analysis; CPG background preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong over-the-road truckload transportation knowledge
  • Transportation Management System knowledge and use
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across all levels of internal and external organizations, including difficult conversations with external stakeholders.
  • Must be able to prioritize short-term, mid-term, and long-term priorities to juggle large amounts of work to meet tight deadlines
  • Analyze performance and financial information to identify areas of opportunity to drive improvements on complex issues and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement those improvements.
