Logistics Coordinator Truck Traffic – Decatur, IL
This is an exempt level position.
 
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for arranging the movement of freight from ADM plants and distribution centers to our broad customer base. This position will work to secure truck capacity that can handle our freight needs in a cost effective and efficient manner. This position will act as the liaison between the ADM divisions and our truckload and LTL carriers.
 
Job Responsibilities:
 

• Maintain working relationships with contracted carriers
• Work with Carrier Development person to bring on and develop new carriers
• Participate in divisional meetings as needed to maintain a working relationship
• Work with rate clerk to ensure ADM sell rates are accurately maintained
• Quote rates to divisional Customer Service and Sales Persons
• Monitor daily reports and ensure that all freight for assigned locations is covered by the requested ship date
• Track posted loads on web and work to cover freight at the lowest cost
• Work with Customer service coordinator to track and trace freight
• Participate in carrier meetings as needed
• Participate in carrier scorecard discussions
• Work to combine LTL shipments into truckload shipments to reduce cost
• Create personal development plan and work with supervisor to implement
• Create individual goals and objectives and report progress
• Work with FA clerks to ensure carrier freight bill discrepancies are handled efficiently
• Review pricing between modes and work with divisions to ensure that freight is moving on the correct mode
• Track and report cost savings versus established benchmarks

 
Job Requirements:
 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
• Good internal customer focus and the ability to build relationships internally
• Ability to work alone or in a team environment, with various types of people
• Bachelor’s degree is required
