Job description

We are recruiting for two Litigation Officers to join the Railway Safety Directorate (RSD). Please note: one of the positions is only available on a part time basis (up to 18.5 hours a week). The other position is available on a full time, part time, flexible working or job share basis.

As part of our Regulatory Improvement Team, working with our Investigation and Enforcement Manager and other RSD colleagues, you will play a significant role in ensuring investigations and enforcement action are dealt with in a professional and timely manner. You will provide a dedicated expert support service to investigating inspectors and legal advisers to improve the efficiency of our investigations, delivering high quality investigation case documentation and maintaining meticulous records of investigation material and evidence to the required legal standards. You will be expected to proactively support Inspectors during their investigations, allowing operational staff to focus on the investigation and evidence collection. You will be responsible for conducting an efficient handover of high-quality investigation cases, to the Legal team, who will prepare the case to court.
