If so, prepare to innovate, create, and inspire. Infrastructure Engineering Advisor will represent the Global Experience & Identity (GXI) department as a member of the Thin Client Engineering team. This team is part of the larger Cigna Virtual Workspace (CVW) engineering team, who delivers and operates a highly available hosted desktop and application platform for Cigna internal resources and external partners.  Cigna Virtual Workspace gives our customers the freedom to work from anywhere with an industry-leading colleague experience. This role will collaborate with other GXI organizations such as Global Desktop Support, Client Engineering, and Endpoint Architecture

They will be a technical resource supporting Cigna’s thin client platforms. They will be forward thinking, a team player who interacts well with colleagues and customers, and has a good understanding of customer and business needs. The candidate will have experience in Linux desktop, Citrix and/or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, MySql and Scripting.  This candidate will also collaborate with other Engineers on the team.

Responsibilities:

• Engineer, build, and maintain Linux Desktop endpoint images

• Work closely with CVW customers to understand their business needs in order to deliver a product that provides a great colleague experience.

• Perform day to day tasks utilizing  MySql and scripting such as bash, Python, and  Powershell

• Represent team providing knowledge and leadership on complex Infrastructure assignments/projects.

• Utilizes deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders.

• Communicate and collaborate with team members utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills within a team setting

• Serve as a technical consultant responsible for design, engineering and development of Linux solutions.

• Works with and collaborates with Senior Linux Engineering and Citrix Engineering resources.

• Troubleshoots and proceeds on resolving complex infrastructure compatibility issues based on system architecture, project requirements, customer expectations, etc.

• May be involved in the creation of design specifications and the development and application of utility programs and may resolve escalated infrastructure compatibility problems as they arise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or strong Linux/ thin client experience.

• 2+ years of experience working with Linux Desktop distributions such as Ubuntu Linux, Fedora or CentOS.

• Experience working with MySql, bash, Python, Powershell, and thin clients.

• Experience working with Linux-based thin client OSes or equivalent are preferred. This includes, but is not limited to Stratodesk, IGEL or an equivalent OS.

• Strong technical skills, oral and written communication skills, team player.

• Self-motivated, organized team player who collaborates well with coworkers while upholding high integrity.   

This role is Flex/WFH which allows most work to be performed at home or on occasion at a Cigna office location. Employees must be fully vaccinated if they choose to come onsite.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
