Job Description

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be working in the Occupational Health and Environmental setting at the P&G Lima Plant.  This role provides valuable assistance to the Lima RNs, is competent in general nursing as an LPN and has general practical experience.  The Lima LPN will be under direct supervision of the P&G Lima RN Health Systems Leaders and secondary supervision of the site contracted physician (MD). 

RESPONSIBILITIESUnder supervision of a health care professional, and with appropriate training and/or certification(s):Gathers, assesses, and provides care related to employees’ health conditions and health history including any occupational and environmental illness and injuriesDocuments using a standardized electronic system.   Responds to medical emergencies as a trained Medical Response Team Member and assists with any follow up careFollows all Lima site specific Standing Orders, including administration of meds and vaccines and business travel consultationsAssists in disability application process and medical clearance for employees to return to work (RTW)Schedules, conducts, and tracks completion of workplace annual health screenings and medical surveillances as owner of the Lima Plant Health Clinic Operations, including:

  • Post offer/pre-hire physicals
  • Hearing tests to meet OSHA and P&G requirements
  • Pulmonary function tests to meet NIOSH and P&G requirements
  • Vision screening
  • Urine and blood screenings including venipuncture

Health and safety employee training including but not limited to Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Wellness, FMLA, P&G Birth & Recovery/Paid Parental Leave, P&G Disability, and Worker’s CompensationAssists with OSHA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, Gina, CLIA, State Workers Compensation, State Disability and other site programs/leavesAssists with Employee Assistance Program and the formal referral processCollaborates and assists with Lima site programs/departments that interface with the Health Center, including but not limited to the Health, Safety & Environmental, Human Resources, Quality departmentsOwner of the Health Center budget and billing processesMember of the Vibrant Living Wellness team and assists with development and execution of site programs and activitiesDisability (DB) Cross application Time System (CATS) Leader - managing employees pay while on a company DB leaveFMLA & PPL AdministrationWorkers’ Compensation CATS Leader

Qualifications

Work ExperienceMinimum of two (2) years’ experience preferred in Primary or Acute Care, Emergency Care, Orthopedic Care, or Occupational Health setting and actively practicing in LPN role in last 2 years.

Education/Professional ExperienceActive, unencumbered LPN license in the state of Ohio.Certification in Professional Healthcare Rescuer Adult and Child CPR/AED.Certification in NIOSH approved Spirometry or attain certification within the first six (6) months of hire.CAOHC Certification for Audiometry or attain certification within first six (6) months of hire.

Professional DevelopmentAbility to travel to attend P&G and Professional meetings, trainings and conferences.Member of AAOHN, NALPN, and any State/ Regional professional organization.

Knowledge and SkillsAbility to respond promptly to medical issues that are urgent or emergent within the scope of an LPN and per site Standing Orders.Possess competent physical assessment skills within the scope of an LPN and refer abnormal findings to supervising RN or MD.Ability to obtain and monitor vital signs for health trends or for referring abnormal findings to supervising RN or MD.Possess excellent customer service skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a Team.Effective oral and written communication skills.Proven and demonstrated ability to problem solve.Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and reprioritize tasks based on business needs.Basic understanding of HIPAA law and confidentiality of health care information.Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.Develop familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices.Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local regulations such as OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, ADAAA, FMLA, Privacy, Drug Free Workplace

Just so you know:No relocation assistance will be providedHave the ability to travel to attend P&G and Professional meetings, trainings and conferencesThis is a primarily a day shift position Monday – Friday, however, must have the ability to flex shift start time on occasion.Ability to rotate on call for weekends and holidays.
