Please Note:
During your training you’ll be based at our Cardinal Depot (PE29 2XF). Once you’ve qualified as a Class 1 driver, you’ll be based at our brand new Biggleswade depot (SG18 8QA).

Our Level 2 LGV driver apprenticeship will set you up for success as a Class 1 LGV driver at our brand-new depot at Biggleswade. It won’t cost you a penny to get your licence, and you’ll learn more than just driving skills.
This is a 15-month programme, which takes you all the way through to becoming a qualified driver. You’ll get a permanent role from day one, and a good salary with regular reviews, plus premiums for unsociable hours and weekends.
You’ll train to be a driver from day one working alongside an expert trainer and getting a rounded experience in our depot to help you understand in the LGV Driver role. After getting your licence in just three months, you’ll get to grips with the health and safety, regulation and customer service side of the job. We’ll help you to develop communication skills and introduce you to the latest technologies the logistics industry.
You’re guaranteed 40 hours per week during the programme, and 20% of your time will be dedicated to structured learning. With the experience you gain, and the coaching you get from your personal mentor, you’ll have a clear route to becoming a transport expert at Co-op – growing your confidence on the road and in the depot.
