Learning and Development Manager

Security Watchdog are looking for a new learning & Development Manager. This is a hands-on role for a senior learning and development professional with responsibility for all systems, screening, soft and core skills training, from creation to delivery as well as delivering training as needed.

You will work as part of a small team focused on delivering a differentiated training offering ensuring training is at the right level and meets the varying needs of our operations and business wide team members.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that Security Watchdog have employees who are effective in their role and have the required levels of skills and knowledge to be able to deliver consistently high levels of customer service. We want them to be the very best in their field of expertise.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Planning delivery and design - being a hands-on trainer with responsibility for the planning, design & delivery of training activities in order to ensure that all delivery targets are met from a service, quality and productivity perspective.
  • Standards and Processes – responsible for the identification, creation and application of our training standards to ensure the delivery teams consisently meet the requirements of our standard operating procedures.
  • Stakeholder Management – responsible for developing and building relationships across the the Security Watchdog and Capita business, gaining commitment and building trust from stakeholders such as the Advisory Bureau, IT, Transition and Client Management teams.
  • Resource Management – responsible for scheduling of incoming work, and resource allocation to ensure requests are resourced appropriately.
  • Continuous Improvement – responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality service through continuous service improvement, leveraging the investment in products and people as well as evaluating new tools and/or ways of working.
  • Technical Guidance – responsible for understanding the platforms and technologies in use (including the tools used to deliver training services) and provide guidance to team members to ensure productivity and delivery on time.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven work experience as a training / learning professional.
  • Track record in designing and executing successful training and learning interventions
  • Creation and delivery of learning interventions with broad experience of business training requirements including systems, soft and core skills.
  • Delivery of learning through different tools & mediums to deliver training materials for a remote workforce.
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc).
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
  • Effective & strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
