THE TEAM

The Lean Thinking team is part of our wider Operational Excellence approach that combines People, Processes and Technology to support and drive continuous improvement across all ASOS. The team provide SME capability for end-end process improvement alongside developing the business knowledge/skills required to ensure all change is embedded in our operating model. The team is a centre of excellence, bringing together a variety of disciplines into one approach enabling ASOS to continuously drive out waste (become more efficient) and utilise freed capacity to deliver more value (become more effective) for our fashion-loving 20-something customers. This newly established team offers the opportunity to be part of establishing best practice and inspiring others.

THE ROLE

You’ll be supporting the analysis for end-end process improvements undertaken as part of our Operational Excellence approach. Working within the ASOS Lean Thinking framework, you will be providing intelligence to assist with the optimisation of processes and bridging the gap between multiple implementation teams with capabilities such as Intelligent Automation, Data Services, Data Insight, Data Science, Procurement, Finance and Lean Thinking.  This will involve engaging with a wide range of teams across multiple departments, so you will be truly immersed in the ASOS culture and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

You will be… 

  • Responsible for performing Business Analysis for prioritised end-end processes across the whole of ASOS, supporting fellow BAs as we constantly strive to improve Business Analysis practice

  • Coordinate and oversee all BA activities required by the multiple implementation teams to deliver operationally excellent solutions

  • Work closely with Technology teams to understand how business priorities and dependencies affect and influence our scope of work

  • Improve data-based decision making through visualisation of processes and their performance using Visio, Process Mining systems and Power-Bi dashboards

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to understand business problems and positively influence outcomes, whilst ensuring alignment with relevant business strategies

  • Understand, document and prioritise processes and business requirements in a way suitable for Lean/Agile Technology development

  • Supporting the Technology team’s Scrum ceremonies and Sprint ways of working, including defining and communicating features, user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Create and agree detailed business case documentation including cost/benefit analysis

  • Provide effective communications, so all changes are understood across the business

  • Assist with the implementation of the wider Lean Thinking & Operational Excellence approach, helping the upskilling of new capabilities and cultural change across ASOS

  • Be an active member of our BA Community

We’d love to meet, someone with… 

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst in a digital Retail organisation, with familiarity of Lean Thinking or Process Excellence

  • Experience working across end-end processes in iterative environments, ideally with some experience of Intelligent Automation, Data Services and Data Science including AI

  • Previous experience of Business process modelling (preferably BPMN), Process Mining and relevant systems & management skills

  • Ability to create simple data and dashboards to drive effective decision making – expert knowledge of Visio and Power Bi minimum

  • Experience line managing and coaching

  • Exceptional organisation skills to manage multiple activities across multiple teams and locations concurrently

  • A passion for developing knowledge and capability in others that will drive daily continuous improvement

  • Willing to learn quickly and take on responsibility for developing the next stage of Lean Thinking & Operational Excellence

  • Ability to prioritise workload and collaborate with multiple stakeholders at a variety of Business levels

  • Professionalism and a positive approach to work

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
