About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Systems Engineer who is knowledgeable of CEMA, Force Protection or Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a Lead System Engineer to join our C6ISR Engineering Team.

This role will be situated within our Rotary Mission Systems Department which is a leading prime contractor and systems integrator responsible for a wide portfolio of high technology programmes, complex integration, training and through-life support. It spans the defence and civil sectors and is a leading provider of systems engineering, software development and complex programme management for global security, cyber, civil and commercial markets.

Working as a mix between Agile Product Owner and Engineering Programme Manager, you will be involved in a number of Framework Programmes running through the Gloucester organisation. You will lead the development of novel capability in the CEMA and Cyber & Intelligence domains working on the design and delivery of C6ISR programmes, which include both IRAD and customer funded work.

Day to day responsibilities include:

Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems

Analysis at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

In order to be successful, we require that you have experience in the following:

Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master role, delivering Agile programmes to meet agreed cost and schedule commitments.

Experience in a customer-facing role, with the ability to form strong customer relationships, capture customer goals (e.g. as user stories, requirements, or white papers), and lead demonstration and acceptance. 

Understanding and experience of at least one of: CEMA, Force Protection / ECM, or EOD

Experience managing cost, schedule, and risk for technical programme delivery

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

It will also be beneficial for you to have experience of the following:

Experience with programme management toolsets: MS Project / Primavera, ARM (or equivalent risk management toolset), Earned Value Management

Understanding of collaborative toolsets, e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint, Slack.

Understanding with system modelling toolsets and methodologies, e.g. SPARX Enterprise Architect, UML, SysML, TOGAF.

Interest and willingness to learn about Radio Frequency technologies, Land and Dismounted Systems integration, and the Electronic Warfare, Force Protection, and Cyber domains.

Basic understanding of the capture process, including how Engineering contributes to the development of bids and proposals.
