Lead Software Engineer – Warehouse Services

We're building out our global fulfilment capability; incorporating new warehouses and carriers into our business and enabling propositions that bring products directly to customers doors at ever increasing scale. To handle the ever-increasing demands of performance and availability, we're embarking on a journey of discovery and re-architecting to seek out the most appropriate tech for us.

You'll be getting stuck into the newest tech, like .NET Core, Docker, Kubernetes, and you'll be using Azure tech like Functions, APIs, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, and Azure DevOps but won’t be afraid of different technologies like Mule. Our team implement best practices and are constantly learning.

As a Lead Software Engineer in one of our 30 engineering platforms operating at hyper-scale receiving thousands of requests per second, you’ll be a hands-on Lead engineer pushing best practice engineering processes and approaches, and driving the capabilities of the platform, ensuring continuous product improvement and ongoing development of engineers through coaching, mentoring and pairing. From problem solving to new concept ideas, you have the genuine opportunity to unleash your full potential within the domain.

• Take a test first approach from business requirements through to code

• You will continually develop and improve our code and technology, whilst playing an active role in the conception of brand-new features for our millions of global customers

• Keep our customers happy by writing high quality code to handle our hyper-scale demand

• Join our regular Tech Develops days to learn new things, take part in internal and external hackathons, share your knowledge and help to drive improvements in engineering
