About the role:
We're looking for a Lead QA to join the Path to Live team in Operations and Reliability Engineering to manage our large scale system integration test environment (E2E) and the Commercial SIT environment.
You’ll report into the Path to Live Platform Lead and work with them to ensure that our path to live across Tech remains relevant and useful while reducing friction and improving reliability.
You will work stakeholders, peers and engineers to ensure that the path to live for ASOS tech remains up to date and relevant, and continually matures in line with DevOps best practice. You will work with the engineering teams to inform local test strategies, encouraging earlier testing and reducing the dependency on the large scale environments.
You will lead and work closely with your team (on/offshore), ensuring they have the support they need to continually improve the reliability of the test environments – leveraging automation to cover critical business processes, and verifying that data is flowing correctly to downstream systems. You’ll also provide support to development team QAs, promoting delivery velocity.
What you'll be doing:
Liaising with key stakeholders to understand the needs of Engineering and Operations teams in relation to the path to live, creating new relationships and understanding where Ops and Reliability Engineering can help improve reliability and velocity.
Creating and owning a roadmap with clear milestones and dependencies, and working with your team to align on delivery against those milestones.
Building relationships across tech and being our point of contact SME for all things path-to-live for Commercial Technology and large scale system integration.
Leading your team to bring out the best in all team members, aligning their responsibilities with their strengths and career goals, seeking high engagement, performance and retention.
Improving the availability of the test environments, and ensuring that test coverage is constantly reviewed, in line with business and technical changes.
Working with projects and platforms to understand their testing requirements and collaborating with delivery QAs on test approaches to ensure that testing happens early, continuously and is owned at the right level.
Driving the day-to-day operations, monitoring and maintenance of the team to ensure reliable, predictable and efficient service
Who we'd like to meet:
An experienced QA with a strong interest in leadership, agile ways of working and Dev Ops, testing and environment management, with experience of the following:
Working in a large and complex Tech department with a variety of technologies and ways of working.
Working with multiple and varied stakeholders, balancing complex and competing needs.
Working in teams that have leveraged use of automation – with a strong appreciation of the benefits and limitations of automation testing.
Leading both internal and external teams and working with a combination of onshore/offshore/nearshore and remote working teams.
Experience working with Azure or equivalent vendors.
What's in it for you?
We will give you a competitive salary, bonus scheme, staff discount, sample sales and pension matching but also a fantastic bunch of flexible benefits that focus on your health, wealth & inner self for you and your friends and family.
We are all equal!
We’re committed to creating an inclusive workforce. We believe in a world where you have the freedom to explore and express yourself without judgement, no matter who you are or where you’re from. Where you value yourself and feel proud of who you are. Where individuality is a source of confidence, because difference makes the world a better place.
