This is an opportunity to join an established enthusiastic, committed and professional MABs Outreach Service at The Harbour School in the role of Lead Pupil and Family Practitioner.
MABS Outreach Service is a traded service supporting children, families and schools with SEMH needs.
The main functions of this new post will be:
- To lead, supervise and deploy the Pupil and Family Practitioners of the MABS Service.
- To work with the Manager of Outreach and MABS colleagues to develop best practice, based on the latest research, to support pupils, families and schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- To act as a role model of good practice for Practitioners, modelling effective relationship-based approaches, and applying trauma informed and attachment aware approaches with pupils with the most complex needs relating to SEMH.
- To empower and motivate others to provide the best possible support, remain curious and strive to improve outcomes.
- To engage and support pupils, families and schools, promoting inclusion and understanding SEMH as communicating a need rather than a problem - understanding children and young people within the contexts of relationships and wider factors.
- To assess and report on the outcomes of the service and with colleagues, identify areas of need and plan for future service developments.
- Own transport and flexibility to move across the City is essential for this role.
