Job Description
This is a National Field position. You will travel nationally up to twice a week.
As a lead field claims adjuster on our Home & Property team, you’ll successfully and efficiently resolve large-loss, high severity claims valued over $75k. In this role, you’ll investigate complex, high risk claims which includes assessing damage and coverage. Ensuring claims are fairly and accurately investigated, you’ll also negotiate settlements with all involved parties. This role may also require attending dispositions, mediations or other legal proceedings.
Duties & responsibilities
- Determine extent of property loss; estimate repair costs and replacements in accordance with state guidelines
- Identify exposures (increase replacement cost, additional living expense, mold, ordinance and law, debris removal)
- Oversee personal property and contents related to property loss, assess damages, and resolve exposure
- Interpret homeowner policies for all states, forms in force and other records to determine coverage and limits
- This is a national field position. You will not be required to report into an office and can work from home when not traveling.
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher and five years structural field claims experience, at least three years of which must be in personal insurance property claims handling
- Instead of the above, two years of post-secondary education and seven years or more of structural field claims experience, three years of which must be in personal insurance property claims handling
- Instead of a degree, a minimum of nine years structural field claims experience, three years of which must be in personal insurance property claims handling
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in compliance with Progressive's driving standards and/or policies
Compensation
- $80,000 - $90,000/year based on experience
- Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
