Job Description

What you’ll be doing:

  • supporting the scrutiny team by acting as a SME and helping them make decisions about candidates’ suitability against the Armed Forces Medical Standards
  • motivating, training and coaching clinical staff (including nurses and other allied health professionals) to get the best out of them and meet business objectives
  • working closely with external specialists, such as cardiologists, where appropriate and working directly with Army colleagues and senior medical officers in Army training establishments
  • collaborating with the Lead Clinician and Lead Practitioner of Training and Quality Assurance
  • helping develop clinical policies and protocols
  • taking part in the medical appeal process of candidates who have been rejected and are appealing the outcome.
     

What we’re looking for:

  • a fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with licence to practise
  • excellent leadership, managerial and delegation skills
  • IT literacy and experience with Microsoft programmes
  • commercial experience, awareness and an innovative thinker 
  • being able to work effectively and efficiently to tight deadlines is essential
  • occupational medicine experience is desirable.
