The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Home Office Team is seeking a Lead Material Cost Analyst to help with division oversight and process requirements ensuring compliance and training to employees. This position can be worked from any of the following cities: Ridley Park, PA; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Seattle, WA; Everett, WA; Tukwila, WA; Berkeley, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Washington DC, DC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive, coordinated, support of the Material Cost Management (MCM) Function and Responsibilities by insuring best practices across BDS
  • Estimates at Completion, Earned Value, Baseline Maintenance, Cash Flow, etc. Must be very knowledgeable on the MCM every day process and responsibilities
  • Trains other team members in the use of OPP and COBRA including base lining, EAC development & maintenance, report creation, and other advanced tool functions
  • Leads development of business cases using appropriate indices
  • Provides subject matter expertise to troubleshoot process and tool issues, determine root cause and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate implementation and sustaining support of Material Visibility System (MVS)
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly data processing from the source tables.
  • Enterprise Accounting System, JV Interface, MRP, NWP, GOLD, etc.
  • Supports Audits and Surveillances
  • Run Site EAC Peer Reviews to ensure process and tool are sound and followed
  • Reviews, analyzes and maintains material cost and/or schedule performance measurement baselines, including earned value, and variance analyses and communicates cost and/or schedule trends
  • Represent Site MCM Needs and Perspectives with BDS Home Office
  • Train Analysts to become Value Integrators Understand the importance of protecting the financial liabilities of the Boeing Company by ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of the data within the MVS System

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, Contracts, or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)
  • 3+ years of experience with Material Cost Management
  • Experience with Data Warehousing
  • Experience in a leadership position either formally or informally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience developing EACs and Financial Forecasts/Reporting
  • 2+ years of experience with EVM reporting   
  • Cognos Business Authoring and report development
  • Experience with Compass Contract
  • Experience with Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), Surveillance Reviews
  • Experience working with Priced Bill of Materials (PBOMs)

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years\' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years\' related work experience, 19 years\' related work experience, etc.).
