THE ROLE
As the Lead Analyst for Trade you will be supporting the Commercial Planning and Trading teams and play a significant role in understanding and informing business performance, championing the use of advanced analytics methods within the team, and leading on insight deliverables for ASOS Operating Board.
You will be responsible for…
- Generating insight that gives a well-rounded view of sales drivers with analysis on retail product and stock, marketing channels and promotions, customer metrics and market intelligence to support business’ understanding of short and mid-term performance
- Working with Senior Insight Managers, Head of Insight, and senior leadership within Commercial and Trading functions to develop and prioritise a roadmap of relevant, strategic insight and bring recommendations to ASOS Operating Board and other relevant trade forums, that will enable nimble and insight-led decision-making
- Leading on how we use advanced analytical techniques to better evaluate and isolate the impact that various levers are having on short-term sales and customer KPI’s across key markets to inform forecasting and trading decisions
- Driving a view of opportunity within stock planning and management across our global warehouses and how this affects short-term performance
- Working with other Insight team members, as well as stakeholders, to ensure the recommendations we deliver to the business are aligned and informed with commercial background
- Challenging existing analysis processes to improve efficiencies, and challenging analytical methodologies to improve accuracy of insights and maintain a focus on keeping the business and team at the forefront of analytics approaches
- Mentor junior members of the team to ensure their continual development
- Champion retail data and insight across the wider insight team, ensuring correct methods and metrics are used
- Support wider insight team with advanced analytics deliverables and/or training and oversight, as relevant
- Work closely with the AI team to ensure knowledge and capability sharing, as relevant
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in a digital analytics role focussing on retail insight, preferably within the e-commerce space
- Highly numerate and strong attention to detail
- Passion for problem solving
- Proactive approach and enthusiasm for sharing ideas and driving them forward
- Able to communicate information clearly and concisely
- Good project management skills, able to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Business, Finance)
- Advanced SQL skills
- Strong web analytics skills (Adobe, Google Analytics)
- Regression analysis/statistical modelling
