Job Description

This is a great opportunity for Lead Data Scientists to help us scale the impact of Artificial Intelligence across Aviva. The role sits in our high-profile Artificial Intelligence team within UKGI Data & Analytics, where our mission is to deliver business benefit by expanding analytical capabilities and embedding artificial intelligence and automation processes across Aviva.

A bit about the job:

  • Driving Innovation: use your research skills to creatively solve the most impactful business problems with the appropriate tools and technology.

  • Deploying solutions: use your experience in delivering machine learning systems to ensure that new insights are turned into real business value.

  • Leveraging your expertise: as a lead data scientist you’ll support, train and collaborate with both the wider data science team and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Highly numerate and educated to degree or postgraduate (MSc) in a relevant field, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science

  • Data Science fundamentals e.g., data prep, feature engineering, model validation, etc

  • Machine Learning e.g., expertise in a specific area of ML algorithms/technology and good at programming language e.g., fluency in Python

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and areas of the business, empowering them to learn and deliver new ways of working 

  • Ability to build best practice ML pipelines

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary between £35,000 and £50,000 depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
