We are seeking with immediate effect a Lead API & Microservices Developer with automation experience to join the Customer & Marketing domain.

 The Lead API & Microservices Developer will support the Complaint Automation programme, a high profile initiative which aims at delivering an AWS based solution which automates customer complaints submission and resolution for all TUI source markets.

 ABOUT THE ROLE:

As Lead API & Microservices Developer you will be working within a cross-functional team of solution architects, developers and testers who are responsible for the enhancements and features of and features of TUI Customer Account. In detail your tasks will include:

• The main responsibilities of the role is to ensure development team adherence to programme governance and standards alongside working on development, and to utilise your previous technical expertise to take ownership of the development process, programming and build, systems design / integration; ensuring project fulfilment and success
• Develop APIs and AWS Microservices to deliver additional facilities and capabilities for the shared Group Customer Account
• Run and coordinate automated unit tests for databases, applications and other developed components to address bugs and quality issues in development stage using scripts that automatically test functionality
• Work with the solution Architect to design technical solutions, contribute to low level design, create, update and maintain API definitions using API swagger/swagger-hub in accordance to architecture design standards, code standards and environment configuration management
• Produce functional solutions with quality designs and code in accordance to architecture design standards, code standards and environment configuration management, supporting from concept – design – code – build – deploy – test, right through to release
• Maintain and updating devOps infrastructure on Terraform  and Gitlab, agree on deployment strategies with architcts for more efficient release cycles and code versioning and support deployments
• Document on Confluence builds and versions

ABOUT YOU:

• Experience in Rest API and micro services development, using programming languages such as javascript (Including frameworks such as NodeJs and React), Java, Python, GoLang, C++
• Experience in using AWS cloud services including S3, KMS, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, Lambdas, ECS , SQS and Fargate
• Preferably Full Stack Developer
• Ideally good knowledge in data modelling
• Experience in API gateway, preferably AWS API gateway and APIGEE
• Experience in service design (SOA, Microservices, ESB’s)
• Solid understanding and practical knowledge of the full api development for backend development and software development lifecycle
• Experience in writing api specs using SWAGGER
• CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform and Gitlab source control experience desirable
• Good communication skills in English; experience in working within international and remote teams is a plus
• A good knowledge and experience of Agile, Scrum and Jira would also benefit the candidate.
