We are looking for an experienced landscape-scale conservation, projects or partnerships manager to join a dynamic team in the High Peak. With many years of ground-breaking peat restoration and clough woodland creation already underway, this is a unique opportunity to be behind accelerating delivery of our 50-year Vision.
The National Trust in the Peak District has a strong reputation and is at the forefront of upland nature conservation. Our land is managed extensively through farm tenants who we work with alongside external partners, statutory bodies and stakeholders to achieve our aims.
A changing funding environment is presenting new opportunities to help address the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis. Reporting to the Countryside Manager, this highly unique role will act to coordinate conservation, land management and specialist resources within a project management framework. You'll coordinate between operational teams, internal and external consultancy resources and partner organisations in a multi-functional role.
With opportunity to deliver at Landscape scale, this work is of regional and national significance and will be provided the support required to make it a success.
You'll be responsible for coordinating the effective roll-out and implementation of our High Peak Vision. You'll consult with stakeholders to build commitment to realising our ambitions, developing the evidence base to inform and steer decision-making. This will involve working closely with tenant farmers and land-use advisors to map out potential new approaches and realise new outcomes.
You'll scope opportunities for improving our nature conservation and will work collaboratively with partners to ensure the effective use of grant-funding and evolving business models to support delivery. You'll lead directly on specific elements of project management and delivery, working with other members of the project team, reporting to our Land and Nature Programme Board. You'll draw on specialist expertise internally and externally in support. Working with Marketing and Communications colleagues you will also engage both internally and externally to promote project outcomes and ensure engagement with our Vision.
