Role Purpose
 
You will be part of a team which originates, structures and underwrites large cap investment grade and sub investment grade financing transactions.  The role involves providing proactive support in deepening client relationships and improving income generation through focused business origination and execution activities.
 
Responsibilities of role:
 
•    Support deal teams on business origination and execution for clients seeking financing solutions from idea generation through to pitch preparation through to execution and marketing
•    Contributing to internal credit (and related) approval processes and other transaction summary papers
•    Work seamlessly with other teams (e.g. coverage, sector, advisory) and other geographies when collaborating on multi-solution pitch books, approval papers and marketing materials
•    Undertaking thorough credit analysis of transactions and financial modelling and presenting findings of such analysis internally
•    Preparing presentations for client meetings, marketing presentations, Information Memoranda and other transaction documentation
•    Providing day-to-day project management support to senior team members and product partners
•    Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business 
•    Contribute to the continued development of the business in line with the Global Banking strategy
•    Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
•    Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and perform to the highest standards

Qualifications

Skills Required:
•    Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
•    Ability to learn new concepts quickly, work across multiple projects and deals in varying stages of execution under time pressure
•    Previous experience working with materials such as pitch books and information memoranda
•    Proficiency in financial modelling and detailed financial analysis 
•    Demonstrable interest in credit analysis, corporate finance considerations and deal execution
•    Commitment to meeting deadlines without compromising attention to detail
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong team player with a proactive and self-motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently and to take ownership of workstreams from outset
