Job Summary:
Filling orders by preassembling individual items into ready-to-ship kits instead of picking and packing those individual items as orders are received is known as material handling. Specifically, material handling involves a process where separate but related items are grouped, packaged, and supplied together as one unit.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
Packaging parts for making accessory kits and product kits
Deliver goods to correct area
Assemble orders and prepares goods for shipment and record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
Perform inventory control functions
Perform all other duties as assigned/ Assist other departments as needed
Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to work from prints and procedures and follow directions exactly
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to read and understand bill of materials
Must have extreme accuracy and focus
Clear communication is extremely important
Must be Deadline-Oriented
Education and Experience:
Material Handling/ Manufacturing Experience preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
While performing duties of the job, incumbent is required to stand for full shift; walk; sit; use hand to finger handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 75 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Non-A/C work area; the noise level can periodically be higher than normal, hearing protection may be required
