THE ROLE
As a Junior Product Technologist, you’ll work within the ASOS Non-Clothing Technical team, reporting to the Senior Non-Clothing Technologist. This is a highly collaborative role, where you’ll work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, Design and Fabric teams and you will have the opportunity to get involved in a number of cross-departmental projects. It’s important that you are self-motivated and can take ownership of the responsibilities on your department. Aside from technical experience, organisational and analytical skills are essential, as are good time management and the ability to prioritise a busy workload. Experience in Jewellery and hard accessories would be an advantage but not advantage but not essential.

What you’ll be doing…
Working closely with Buying, Merchandising, Design, Fabric and our supply base. You’ll need to draw on your solid understanding of various fitting and manufacturing processes.
Supporting the Head of category to achieve ASOS KPIs, including right first-time sealing hit rate.
Working with the Design and Buying teams to get a ‘right first time’ sample and improve sealing hit rate
Taking ownership of the fit, sealing and test report approval process.
Risk assessing product for quality standards and production issues including safety, wearer trials, performance, minimum make standards and potential production issues.
Using lessons learnt, benchmarking through comparative shopping, working collaboratively across buying teams and suppliers to make sure ASOS Quality Standards are maintained.
Analysing quality issues and customer returns within your department, putting corrective action plans and workable timeframes in place.
Ensuring that Technical data on the supplier Extranet is up to date and accurate.
Ensuring that the correct block and fabric reference is selected during Design Brief stage prior to being sent to supplier.
Delivering Supplier Self Gold Seal status to ensure suppliers meet criteria for Self-Approval.
Supporting the Offshore Asos QC auditors regarding technical queries to ensure shipments are not delayed due to incorrect technical packs provided with the Gold Seal.
Responding to Customer complaints and queries.
A knowledge of chemical compliance regulations would be advantage but not essential.
Keeping up to date with industry innovations, networking internally and externally to identify opportunities.

Experience of working within a high street retailer or supplier.
Self-motivation and the ability to take the initiative and respond quickly to change.
Experience working with soft and hard accessories.
Strong communication and networking skills across all levels
Good working knowledge of MS Office
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and with suppliers
Reliable, flexible, and good at working within a fast-paced team
Strong organisational skills
Passionate about the role and maintaining high standards of quality and fit within your department(s)
