ASOS STUDIOS - Junior Retoucher

Junior Retouchers at ASOS are highly organised, efficient, team centric figures, who have an eye for fashion, photography and seamless operations. As one of our Junior Retouchers, you will be working closely with your team across all levels and be an active member of the Studios Team. You will contribute to department efficiency, whilst thinking commercially and innovatively to deliver the best e-commerce assets in the industry for our 20 something customer. You have the ability to successfully be a part of a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Reporting directly into the Senior Retoucher, you will be contributing to the day-to-day running of the Retouching team. This will primarily include product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day

  • Ensuring budget, cost per product, creative quality and volumetric KPIs are adhered to

  • Proven understanding of E- commerce retouching and good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

  • Responsible for producing top quality imagery with a consistent approach across all categories in line with ASOS edit guidelines

  • Exceptional multitasking ability with outstanding organisational skills; able to use initiative and to work in pressurised environment

  • Develop working knowledge of colour consistency with strong knowledge of colour profiles and colour matching process

  • Understanding of actions for Adobe Photoshop

  • Contribute to automated workflow solutions with support of Senior to streamline team practices and processes

  • The ability to work quickly and efficiently with a strong eye for detail and catching errors

  • Contribute to ad hoc Retouching Team projects

  • Contribute to reviewing your technical capabilities in Photoshop and software packages relevant to daily workflow and developing these with help of senior team

  • Identify areas of site for improvement, through review and competitor research – presenting these findings within team meetings

  • PC literate with working knowledge of, Outlook, Excel and digital asset management software

  • Assisting the Mid weights and Seniors to identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency

  • Participating in team growth and development, ensuring you are striving to support in the delivery of the department strategy

  • Contributing to team and departmental meetings

  • Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team

  • Show excellent problem-solving abilities and positive, dynamic response to change

  • Strong communication and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workload

  • Follow established processes to deliver agreed creative and quality standards in line with departmental strategy

  • Working with the Seniors and Lead to support the training and development of new full-timers when required

  • Support Seniors when required with deployment of fulltime and freelance team resource to optimise the collective team skill set

  • Be authentic, brave and creative and to follow all company and departmental strategies, leading by example and supporting your peers

  • Developing your communication and future leadership style alongside your Seniors, in line with ASOS Behaviours policy

  • Working closely with your Seniors, Lead and Management team to successfully deliver the department strategy. Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team

  • Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by working on areas for review, researching ideas and assessing competition when required to ensure we are market leaders

  • Participate in new workflow solutions to streamline departmental practices and processes

  • Participate in departmental technology software and hardware launches when required

  • Participate in projects to support the department strategy and any other ad hoc tasks defined by the Lead Retoucher and Post Production Manager
