In our online multichannel department in the UK alone, we've scaled up our headcount in the past year by 170 people and we are now looking to increase this by a further 120+ over the next 12 months to accommodate our growth. Outside of the UK, we’ve also been accelerating our growth throughout Europe from our local offices in Amsterdam and Alicante.
As a leading retailer, we are preferred partners with the likes of Google, Facebook and TikTok due to our extensive presence within the market. As such, they provide us with leading industry insights and training, and we are often chosen as the beta trialists for new cutting-edge features that they are planning to roll out. This means we are always at the forefront when it comes to helping to shape the industry landscape and our team has early access to brand new features and training from the world's largest tech and social companies.
In our Multichannel department we cover everything in the online and digital space and run everything internally through our world-class inhouse functions spread across: Digital Marketing (Paid Media, SEO, CRM, Affiliates, Influencers, Social, Content), Ecommerce (Online Trading, Online Visual Merchandising), Tech (Software Development FE/BE Stacks, App Development, Data, Security, UI/UX), and Studios (Design, Artwork, Retouch, Photography, Videography, Styling).
Reporting directly into the Merchandiser, the Junior Merchandiser role is essential in driving on-site trade performance, acting as a touchpoint for all product-related actions and directives.
â— The key responsibilities for the Junior Merchandiser, include the following, but are not limited to:
â— Working closely with the Multichannel Trading Manager, Merchandiser and wider Multichannel Trading Team to drive digital fashion performance.
â— Actioning on-site product directives based on real-time trading performance, as well as DoD, WoW and LFL metrics.
â— Managing onsite visual merchandising across each fascia. This includes proposing, creating and managing your own sequencing rules depending on seasonal and trade directives.
◠Identifying sequencing opportunities across key landing pages and search results, whilst managing all necessary redirects and synonyms to enhance the customer journey.Developing and directly managing the Merchandising Assistants, ensuring you are motivating and leading by example at all times. Coaching and supporting them to achieve all KPI’s as required and overseeing any deadlines to ensure these are met.
â— Regularly reviewing and amending onsite trading actions based on how we are performing and what stock is expected into the business.
â— Creating trading reports and updates for the wider team on performance throughout the day. This would include promotional code performance, key brand focuses and updates on any.
â— Proposing product actions based on performance to marketing teams where relevant.
â— Working closely with the core buying & merchandising teams on stock intake, and work to build out plans throughout the week based on their booking information. Chasing up any communications as necessary in order to ensure this stock is online for specific dates or times where needed, such as launches.
â— Liaising directly with DC contacts where necessary, in order to establish stock statuses that may affect trade.
â— Managing the communication of product induction information within the multichannel department, and playing a pivotal role in building out plans based on future stock drops with the Merchandiser.
â— Developing your understanding of the stock file and supporting the Merchandiser in developing a strategy for managing web stock, including optimising Warehouse space while limiting stock movement between store branches.
â— Implementing an effective IRI (Internet Reserve Ideal) strategy to ensure key lines and newness have strong web availability and presence online.
â— Managing fast tracks from stores to increase web stock availability on key lines, whilst reporting on any lines available in the warehouse but not yet selling online to ensure nothing gets missed.
â— Building strong relationships with core buying and merchandising functions.
â— Being aware of what competitors are doing, looking for new trends and developments.
â— Understanding the retail strategy and reflecting where appropriate online.
â— A well-organised self-starter who is able to demonstrate own ideas and initiative. 2
â— Experience in using product merchandising tools is essential, Fredhopper tool experience desirable.
â— Experience in using ranking cocktails and algorithms to drive product merchandising results.
â— Knowledge of the premium fashion sector is desirable but not essential, however, you will need to be willing to immerse yourself within this industry.
â— Ability to liaise with colleagues throughout the business at all levels to ensure cohesion and team-spirit.
â— Flexibility to work across teams and be involved with and communicate with other teams and locations.
â— Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong work ethic
