We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join this team in the role of a Junior Data Analyst.

The Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for the identification, acquisition and analysis of data used by Compliance to assess and analyse financial crime and reputational risk for all the Bank’s clients. This will require close and productive working relationships with the IT development team and Compliance analysts, and skilled relationship management with both internal system owners and external data vendors.

This role could suit an individual currently at university working towards a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,Software Engineering or equivalent. 

In this role, you will: 

• Assess and analyse financial crime and reputational risk for all the Bank’s clients.
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with the IT development team and FC analysts.
• Skilled relationship management with both internal system owners and external data vendors. 
• Understanding, working with and managing data.
• Assess the expected impact of proposals to understand how they will perform over time

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:  

• Understanding of data types and fluency in SQL with a willingness to learn SQL if there is experience of a software equivalent.
• Understanding of Big Data technologies – Hadoop, Hive, Spark.
• An analytical thought process, with excellent quantitative analysis skills is critical.
• Ability to draw conclusions based on analytic results, and present complex concepts and results in a way tailored to the audience is crucial.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail is key.
